Why we exist
A relocation compresses the school search into the same weeks as the visa, the lease and the new job. The information families find first is usually the information schools paid to place. We think the decision deserves better: researched city guides, school profiles that separate verified fact from judgment, and honest confidence labels when the evidence is thin.
The parent questions come first
We approach a school the way a careful relocating parent would: What will my child actually do all day? Which year groups are really open? What does the complete year cost once transport, devices and exam fees land? Can our household live with the commute? What happens when a child struggles, races ahead, or needs an adult?
That perspective is personal because the decisions are personal. It is not permission to fabricate firsthand experience. When we have an attributable parent account or school response, we identify it. Otherwise we describe the documentary evidence and label our interpretation.
How we work: the dossier discipline
Every page on this site begins life as a research dossier, not a blank document. Before a sentence of prose is written, we build a source table — the regulator, the school’s own publications, parent forums, the school’s official social channels, relocation press — and extract the facts we intend to assert into a claim-by-claim list. Each claim carries its source URL, the date we accessed it, and a confidence level. Claims we cannot confirm go on an explicit unverified list and never reach the published page as fact.
Our named-source policy is simple: a factual sentence should be checkable by you, not just by us. Fees, debenture prices, admissions rules and regulator ratings are attributed at the sentence to the school, the regulator or a named publication. Forum material is labelled as reported experience, never as fact. We do not write “reports suggest” without naming the report.
What that has produced so far
NewSchoolRun currently publishes 25 researched city guides across the Gulf, Asia and beyond, 12 in-depth school profiles and 9 guides on the questions expat parents ask most — admissions timelines, fee comparisons, Hong Kong debentures, KHDA ratings, Saudi Vision 2030. Every one is dossier-backed, and every one carries a review date, because fees and policies expire.
Our point of view
We value educational coherence, developmental fit, meaningful challenge, strong adult attention, transparency, and a family life that remains workable after the school run. We do not pretend those values produce one universally best school — and we never take payment for what our research says.
